Earning Criteria

  • Identify and comply with manufacturer’s instructions for machinery in accordance with the operators’ manual,and other information sources, and applicable legislation.
  • To understand HSE requirements including PUWER and LOLER.
  • Can carry out and complete a Risk Assessment for tasks involving rigid base and forwarding trailer
  • Identify the basic construction and components of the base unit, and forwarding trailer, including identifying the purpose and use of all controls and gauges.
  • Carry out pre start checks, and daily maintenance checks.
  • Know how to and be able to prepare and drive the machine
  • Know how to and be able to operate a forwarder crane
  • Know relevant health & safety legislation and industry good practice
  • Complete job to a given specification, following environmental good practice
  • Be able to work safely
