Earning Criteria

This badge earner must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience which includes service, repair and/or installation of two (2) solar heating systems per year. This year of service must include a decision-making role on the job in the role of foreman, supervisor, site manager, or experienced worker performing solar hot water installation without direct supervision.

This badge earner must complete a certain number of advanced training hours. The number of hours is related to their professional experience in the field.

This badge earner must pass a proctored exam complete with identity verification at an authorized testing center.

This badge earner must agree to adhere to the NABCEP Code of Ethics & Standards of Conduct.

The badge earner must complete 30 hours of continuing education every 3 years to maintain their Board Certification.
