Certified Elevator Technician (CET™)

Issued by National Association of Elevator Contractors

Holders of this (CET™) certification have verified knowledge and experience related to compliance with industry codes, elevator and escalator specific technical theory, components, and competencies. This Certification is issued by the National Association of Elevator Contractors and endorsed by the NAEC Certification Board overseen by Chair, Frank Giampa.

Earning Criteria

Submission and approval of application that meets the education OR experience requirements as outlined in the CET Applicant Handbook.
Completion of the NAEC CET Training Program, NEIEP, CEIEP, L.I.T.S. Education Program or equivalent to apply with education.
A minimum of 10,000 documented hours (5 years) of on-the-job training within the elevator industry attained before December 31, 2007.
Pass a high-stakes assessment examination.
Recertify annually with 10 CEs of which a minimum 1 up to 3 CEs are designated as Safety courses.

ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB)

The ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB) accreditation since its launch in 2003, is a personnel certification accreditation program based on the international standard ISO/IEC 17024:2012. More than 5.2 million people worldwide and counting hold a certification from an ANAB-accredited organization.
