Individuals can identify and describe primary and secondary elements (detectors), including orifice plate, pitot tube, thermocouple, resistance temperature detector (RTD), bourdon tube, diaphragm device, capacitance-type pressure sensor and bellows device. They understand an I/P operation, the function and installation of electronic transmitters and temperature detectors and the operation of a strain gauge. They can draw a basic instrument channel diagram.
