Individuals can identify and describe basic FCAW processes, equipment control and welding techniques, and welding procedures for fillet and V-groove welds. They understand how to safely set up equipment and work area and produce basic FCAW weld beads. They can make multiple-pass FCAW-G/GM (gas shielded) and FCAW-S (self-shielded) fillet (1F–4F positions) and V-groove (1G–4G positions) welds on carbon steel plate coupons.
