Individuals can identify and describe basic GTAW processes, equipment control, and welding techniques, and welding procedures for fillet and V-groove welds. They understand how to safely set up equipment and work area and produce basic GTAW weld beads. They can build a pad with stringer beads in flat position using GTAW equipment and make multiple-pass GTAW fillet (1F–4F positions) and V-groove (1G–4G positions) welds on carbon steel plate coupons.
