Individuals are able to safely use basic rigging equipment and hardware. They are familiar with slings, wire rope, chains, tag lines and rigging knots. They understand the importance of knowing sling capacity and how the sling angle affects the tension on the sling. They are able to properly use and inspect attaching hardware including shackles, eyebolts and hooks. They know how to safely use tuggers, jacks, hoists, ratchet-lever hoists and come-alongs and how to inspect them properly.
