Individuals can identify and describe safety practices for SMAW and techniques to produce stringer beads, weave and overlapping beads, and fillet welds. They understand how to prepare and area and equipment for welding, restart and terminate a weld pass, and strike an arc and respond to arc blow. They can set up welding equipment, make stringer, weave, and overlapping beads using E6010 and E7018 electrodes, corner welds on an angle and fillet welds in various positions.
