Individuals can identify and describe the primary components and operation of an oil-fired furnace, basic servicing of oil-fired systems, and how to perform a combustion efficiency test. They understand the troubleshooting procedures of a typical oil furnace controls and common oil heating problems. They can remove and reinstall an oil pump (single-pipe and two-pipe) and an oil burner nozzle and set the electrode gap, test a cad cell flame detector, and conduct a complete combustion analysis.
