They are familiar with electrodes, filler metals, shielding gas and types of welding joints. They are aware of welding codes, as well as those that apply to boiler construction and maintenance. They can describe welding safety hazards, precautions and required PPE. They can explain the qualification and certification requirements for welders who work on boilers.
