The course objective is to familiarize the student with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance Grant Program. The object of the program is to provide assistance to states, local governments, and certain nonprofit organizations, to alleviate suffering and hardship resulting from major disasters or emergencies declared by the President.

The methods of assessment include a final exam and a final project worksheet development/preparation plan with a minimum passing score of 70 percent.
