The methods of assessment include case studies, written papers, performance rubrics (checklists), presentations, and pre/post-tests with a minimum passing score of 75 percent.

The methods of instruction include audio visual materials, case studies, discussion, learner presentations, lecture, and activities. The general course topics include building community capacity, contemporary issues, leading organizational development, emergency management in leadership, community and profession, professional development, capstone activity, and NEMAA paper presentations.
