The course increases the Incident Commander's (IC's) ability to integrate both fire and community resources to address an incident that consumes the majority of the readily available fire department assets, demands additional equipment and personnel, entails multiagency response to confront the problem, and places the Command Officers in a position of managing both fire department and non-fire department activities over an extended time period.
