Creating the Emergency Management Stakeholder Community (E0686)(v.1)

The course objective is to cover the executive level core competencies of Facilitating Community Risk Ownership, Social Intelligence, Political Savvy, and Leadership and Collaboration. Management and leadership behaviors, including policy and strategic-level decision making, are re-emphasized throughout the week. Final culminating academy capstone projects will be presented during this final course to high-level Emergency Management and/or Homeland Security officials.

Earning Criteria

The methods of assessment include case studies, written papers, performance rubrics (checklists), and presentations with a minimum passing score of 75 percent.

The methods of instruction include audio visuals, case studies, discussions, learner presentations, lecture, and classroom exercise. The general course topics include political savvy, leadership and collaboration, social intelligence, community risk ownership, emergency management senior executive perspective, and capstone project.
