The course objective is to provide students with the tools and skills to be able to evaluate their organization's fire and injury prevention programs. The course provides a systematic way to improve and account for evaluation actions by involving procedures that are useful, feasible, ethical and accurate. Prerequisites: ICS-100 prerequisite; ICS-200 prerequisite; Q0462 preferred; Q0463 preferred.

Earning Criteria

The methods of assessment include pre-course assignments and examinations with a minimum passing score of 70 percent.

The methods of instruction include audio visual materials, practical exercises, learner presentations, lectures, discussions, classroom exercises, and computer-based training. The general course topics include misconceptions regarding the purposes and methods of prevention evaluation; the essential elements of prevention program evaluation; the steps for conducting effective prevention program evaluation; and review standards for effective program evaluation.
