EL0871 Maximizing Mitigation: HMGP/PA 406 Hazard Mitigation Integration (EL0871)

The course objective is to provide tools and knowledge to prepare staff to successfully identify 404 and 406 hazard mitigation measures and propose, prepare, and review 406 Hazard Mitigation Proposals (HMPs) in accordance with Section 406 of the Robert T. Stafford Act. It is expected that participants will have a basic knowledge of either the Hazard Mitigation Program and/or the various PA processes. Prerequisites: IS -639 Unified Hazard Mitigation: Developing Quality Application Elements.

Earning Criteria

The method of assessment is an examination with a minimum passing score of 75 percent.

The methods of instruction include audio visual materials, practical exercises, learner presentations, lecture, discussion, and classroom activities. The general course topics include hazard mitigation; grant program and proposals; and Public Assistance 406.
