The course objective is to provide students with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to identify children and adolescents involved in firesetting. The course addresses how to establish programs to meet the needs of these youths and their families. Prerequisites: ICS-100-level and ICS-200-level training (preferred courses are Q0462 and Q0463)

Earning Criteria

The methods of assessment include case studies, written papers, presentations, performance rubrics/checklists, live interviewing of firesetting youth, writing a narrative for inclusion in a case file and more, with a minimum passing score of 70%.

Instructional strategies include: audio visual materials, case studies, discussion, practical exercises, learner presentations, lectures, classroom exercise.
