UHF TACSAT Applications and Database Manager

Graduates of this course have completed over 30 hours of dedicated Tactical Radio related applications software management to be able to create reliable computer databases in support of secure voice and data communications through NATO UHF Tactical Satellite communications services. Students must be able to successfully install computer applications and databases, program and operate the current NATO UHF TACSAT radio to support secure C2 communications over narrowband bandwidth.

Earning Criteria

Students must demonstrate the ability to create databases required to program the current NATO UHF TACSAT radio and support data transfer over secure SCPC, DAMA and IW data communications to a distant end instructor over real UHF Tactical Satellite channels.

Students will be assessed during a scenario that requires them to (1) install computer applications relevant to current NATO UHF TACSAT radios (2) Create application databases to support data transfer over NATO UHF TACSAT services (3) Operate a tactical radio in voice and data wireless transmissions (4) Perform troubleshooting steps for simple radio and computer database malfunctions relevant to NATO UHF TACSAT communication.
