Earning Criteria
-
Complete extensive, assessed coursework grounded in the 10 core competencies necessary for effective nonprofit leadership
-
Many nonprofit jobs require secondary educational experience to ensure employees are prepared for the workforce and have basic knowledge. We recognize that education is important but value education and experience. Meet this requirement through a completed college degree, college credit, military service, certificate specialty (e.g. CFRE or CAE), or professional life experience.
-
Build on your professional nonprofit experience to develop knowledge and skills to make a powerful impact in the social sector. This requirement can be met through one year or more of professional experience or a combination of experiences (such as internships, service years, and summer jobs).
-
We work in an ever-changing sector. Staying up to date on current events and trends, continually building your professional network, and listening to nonprofit leaders from across the county is important to lifelong learning. To meet this requirement, attend a national nonprofit conference.
-
Volunteerism is a key component for most nonprofit organizations. The requirement encourages CNP participants to understand the value of volunteerism. To meet this requirement, contribute your time and talent through 20+ hours of volunteer service within the last two years or during the program. You may volunteer with any nonprofit organization in person or online.
