Standards
Students will investigate methods for encouraging respectful, complementary relationships among the community, early care providers, young children, and their families.
Students will create an environment within the child care facility that supports young children cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and literacy development.
Students will promote healthy lifestyle practices of young children by examining the nutritional needs of young children and planning nutritious meals.
Students will examine outdoor and indoor safety practices while recognizing hazards, reinforcing disease prevention, outlining safe food handling practices, and recognizing signs of neglect and abuse.
Students will analyze typical developmental characteristics of young children by incorporating positive guidance strategies.
Students will plan lessons and activities that cater to the developing needs of young children; special emphasis will be placed on developmentally appropriate curriculum, daily routines, transitions, schedules, and fun activities.
