Arizona Classroom Readiness and Teacher Training Preparation Program 2022

This course gives international teachers a grounding in issues surrounding the social role and social practice of schooling, with emphasis on teaching and learning in classrooms and on school organization. We explore the philosophy and psychology of teaching children in Arizona, including students with exceptional learning needs, and an overview of the U.S. educational system. We believe that all students, with and without disabilities, deserve quality and differentiated instruction.

Earning Criteria

1. Exercise the ability to analyze and articulate the context, content, and meaning of particular educational issues.

2. Explain the impact of population shifts and the importance of cultural proficiency in relationship to public education systems.

3. Synthesize contemporary issues in education including developing methods for appropriately integrating technology within the parameters of differentiated instruction and culturally responsive teaching.

4. Plan to create safe, inclusive, culturally responsive learning environments so that individuals with exceptionalities become active and effective learners and develop emotional well-being, positive social interactions, and self determination (CEC 2.0)

5. Use knowledge of general and specialized curricula to individualize learning for individuals with exceptionalities (CEC 3.0)

6. Consider an individual’s abilities, interests, learning environments, and cultural and linguistic factors in the selection, development, and adaptation of learning experiences for individuals with exceptionalities (CEC 5.1)
