Bias is unavoidable--we are all hardwired for it, and its influence is everywhere. Studying the origins and impacts of bias can cultivate awareness of not only your own thinking and behavior but also the thinking and behavior that shapes the world around you, from everyday unconscious stereotypes to pervasive cultural norms to data-driven AI systems.
