In this module we define enteral VS parenteral nutrition (PN), when and why to use enteral VS parenteral nutrition and different types of tubing and choosing appropriate formulas. Feeding schedules, preparation methods and calculation of residuals are covered with ongoing care for EN, interventions and weening and complications including refeeding syndrome / dumping syndrome. For PN, patients’ preparation and care are discussed with complications and medical actions needed for PN monitoring.
