Beef Cattle Artificial Insemination

Issued by Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE)

Earners of the Artificial Insemination certification will be able to demonstrate competency in artificial insemination of beef cattle and embyro transplanting. Students will be able to handle cattle safely, properly identify estrus in cattle, understand bovine reproductive physiology, handle frozen semen, and successfully artificially inseminate cows for optimum fertilization.

Earning Criteria

Successful completion of AGRC 3002: Artificial Insemination Workshop
Meet National Association of Animal Breeders (NAAB) expectations including AI training from certified instructors and coaches to include six hours of live cow insemination practice done over a minimum of three separate sessions.
