Culturally Responsive Care for Native Americans in Oklahoma

This cultural awareness micro credential demonstrates commitment to increasing cultural competency in nursing and healthcare. This credential may be earned by current nursing students, local tribes/nations, hospitals, clinics, and the community at large in an effort to promote increased cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with diverse communities especially Native American communities.

Earning Criteria

Students will navigate six learning modules containing information to increase their cultural competency in nursing and healthcare. The learning modules include the following: - Cultural Awareness in Tribal Healthcare - Historical Trauma - Health Disparities - Traditional Cultures - Stereotypes and Cultural Appropriations - Revitalizing Indigenous Communities Students must successfully complete a review assessment at the completion of each learning module with a score of 70% or higher.
