This micro-credential gives learners skills for working in museum and cultural settings. The courses provide an understanding for a museum’s purpose, reflective and historical background of culture and art, and the roles in a museum settings or centers of cultural and historical significance.

HUM 2123 Museum Studies (3 hr.) - After visiting selected museums and attending lectures, discussions, and presentations on related topics, the student will research and make accurate oral and/or written statements about how the collections in various types of museums reflect human values and cultural traditions. Students must score a D or higher.

ART 1053 Art Appreciation (3 hr.) - The study of art from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures as both product and process. Aesthetic judgment making in evaluation of art from different times and places is stressed. Periods of art history with relevant concepts and terminology are included. Students must score a D or higher.

HUM 2223 Modern Humanities (3 hr.) - This course is a study of the humanities from the early Renaissance to the present. The student will recognize, interpret, and evaluate the interrelationship of art, architecture, literature, philosophy, and music and their legacies and impact on contemporary culture. Students must score a D or higher.
