Advanced Oncology Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist (AOCNS®)
Earners of the Advanced Oncology Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist (AOCNS®) credential have demonstrated they have specialized knowledge and experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in adult oncology. They have the knowledge to competently perform the roles of the CNS and to provide advanced-level care for adults with cancer. Earners initially demonstrated this knowledge by passing a comprehensive examination. They maintain certification by completing professional development activities.

Earning Criteria

Hold a current, active, unencumbered RN or APRN license

Completed at least 1,000 hours of practice in roles of the clinical nurse specialist in adult oncology within the past four years

Attained a passing score on the AOCNS Examination
