Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse (BMTCN®)
Earners of the Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse (BMTCN®) credential have demonstrated they have specialized knowledge and experience in BMT nursing. They have the knowledge to competently provide care for patients before, during, and after transplantation. Earners initially demonstrate this knowledge by passing a comprehensive examination and maintain the credential by completing professional development focused on transplant nursing or by passing the examination again.

Earning Criteria

Hold a current, active, unencumbered RN or APRN license

Completed at least 2 years of practice as an RN

Completed at least 2,000 hours of blood and marrow transplant nursing practice

Completed at least 10 contact hours of continuing education in blood and marrow transplant nursing

Attained a passing score on the BMTCN Examination
