Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®)
Earners of the Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) credential have demonstrated they have specialized knowledge and experience in oncology nursing. They have the knowledge to competently care for adults along the entire cancer continuum, from prevention and detection through survivorship and end of life. Earners initially demonstrate this knowledge by passing a comprehensive examination and maintain the credential by completing professional development or passing the examination again.

Earning Criteria

Hold a current, active, unencumbered RN or APRN license

Completed at least 2 years of practice as an RN

Completed at least 2,000 hours of adult oncology nursing practice

Completed at least 10 contact hours of continuing education in oncology

Attained a passing score on the OCN Examination
