ONCUniversity instills the countless advantages of diversity in the workplace by implementing our ECHO Diversity viewpoint. ECHO, which stands for Every Contact Has Opportunity, explores the positive side of the differences we recognize in each other. Teaching ECHO, employees appreciate the differences in society and sincerely understand that we can all learn from a diverse workforce. ONCU defines “diversity respect” as the due regard for the feelings, wishes, rights, or traditions of others.

Earning Criteria

  • Badge earners must complete a classroom session that outlines the differences between diversity, inclusion, equality, and equity. Attendees will learn the dangers of micro-inequities, the advantages of a diverse and inclusive workplace, and how to deal with personal biases. Badge earners will also learn diversity’s “blind audition philosophy” and how to mentally prepare to use this when interacting with people, thus becoming a Diversity Champion.
