Job Performance: The academic advisor must meet the key performance indicators (KPIs) outlined in their job description, including student retention, caseload management, student success initiatives, and positive feedback. They should actively participate in departmental projects and contribute to student success and team goals.

Informational Interviews: Conduct a minimum of 3 informational interviews with other offices throughout the university. This includes but is not limited to Academic Advisors in other schools, Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Registrars, Student Accessibility Services, Counseling Center, Career Center, and other student support areas.

Collaboration: Connect students with appropriate colleagues and partnering departments when needed. This includes but is not limited to faculty members, Career Services, International Services, SADACA, Registrars, Financial Aid, Learning Commons, Counseling Services, and other student support areas.

Professional Development: Attend two workshops throughout the year tailored to the advancement of your interests, skills and knowledge (internal or external workshops).

Community Service: Volunteer for a university workgroup (i.e. Social Justice Committee, Wellness Committee, etc.)

Participation in Ceremonies: Participate in awards and commencement ceremonies.

Mentorship - Act as a mentor for students or new advisors, helping them navigate the academic environment.

Optional: Attend 1 higher education industry conference related to advising, higher education, student services, or any areas that support the advisor's professional growth and the improvement of student outcomes. The conference can focus on best practices, new research, technology in education, diversity and inclusion, mental health, or other pertinent topics.
