The test taker at this level can understand language related to familiar activities. They can understand basic factual statements relating to pictures, simple texts and short simple messages. They can understand basic information about people and follow simple directions and everyday transactions if spoken slowly and clearly. They can ask and answer simple questions on personal information and interact in basic exchanges. They can write simple sentences about people or familiar objects.

Earning Criteria

Completion of an English language proficiency test. The test assesses Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking in approximately 60 minutes with a focus on English used in academic and workplace contexts. The test is administered online under secure conditions with voice and identity verified throughout the test.
Standards
Based on research from more than 50 countries, The GSE extends the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) by pinpointing on a scale from 10 to 90 what has been mastered for the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.
