The test taker at this level has control of a set of basic structures, words and phrases for everyday situations. They can understand short, simple texts about everyday activities and extract specific information. They can understand simple, everyday conversations and identify key information if conducted slowly and clearly. They can construct sentences and phrases on familiar topics and in routine situations or everyday forms of writing.

Earning Criteria

Completion of an English language proficiency test. The test assesses Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking in approximately 60 minutes with a focus on English used in academic and workplace contexts. The test is administered online under secure conditions with voice and identity verified throughout the test.
Standards
Based on research from more than 50 countries, The GSE extends the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) by pinpointing on a scale from 10 to 90 what has been mastered for the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.
