The test taker at this level has a very wide range of resources to draw on in terms of vocabulary, structures and functions. They can understand correspondence containing idiomatic/non-standard language. They can follow a fast-paced conversation between fluent speakers enough to be able to contribute. They can contribute to conversations and group discussions even when speech is fast and colloquial. They can express themselves fluently in writing, adapting the level of formality to the context.

Earning Criteria

Completion of an English language proficiency test. The test assesses Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking in approximately 60 minutes with a focus on English used in academic and workplace contexts. The test is administered online under secure conditions with voice and identity verified throughout the test.
Standards
Based on research from more than 50 countries, The GSE extends the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) by pinpointing on a scale from 10 to 90 what has been mastered for the four skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.
