To recognize the leadership and dedication of the most outstanding secondary school students from FIRST®, the Kamen family sponsors awards for selected 10th or 11th-grade students known as the FIRST® Robotics Competition and the FIRST® Tech Challenge FIRST Dean’s List Award. FIRST Dean’s List Winners comprise ten FIRST Robotics Competition and ten FIRST Tech Challenge students selected from the applicable FIRST Dean’s List Finalists.

Earning Criteria

Criteria for selection of the FIRST Dean’s List Award shall include, but not be limited to a student’s: 1. Demonstrated leadership and commitment to the FIRST Core Values 2. Effectiveness at increasing awareness of FIRST in the school and community 3. Interest in and passion for a long-term commitment to FIRST 4. Overall individual contribution to their team 5. Technical expertise and passion 6. Entrepreneurship and creativity 7. Ability to motivate and lead fellow team members
