Level 2 Large Goods Vehicle Driver
Earners of this badge have demonstrated competence as a Large Goods Vehicle Driver based on the occupational standard published by IFATE. This includes applied knowledge of the mechanisms of safe, controlled and fuel-efficient driving techniques relating to driving the Large Goods Vehicle (LGV), considering fuel costs and other possible efficiencies. Skills and behaviours demonstrated include taking responsibility for the safety of the vehicle and load through effective vehicle checks.

Earning Criteria

Successfully met the requirements of the Large Goods Vehicle Driver End-point Assessment delivered by Pearson as the registered EPAO. The End-point assessment consists of a Knowledge test comprising short-answer questions based on scenarios encountered in the workplace, and a Practical driving assessment consisting of activities observed by the assessor and relating to the skills requirements in the apprenticeship standard.

Completed a minimum of 13 months learning and development to meet the knowledge, skills, and behaviours in the Large Goods Vehicle Driver occupational standard.

Achieved Level 1 English and Maths. Held a Category C driving licence during the apprenticeship in order to drive large goods vehicles.
