Earners of this badge have demonstrated competence as a Sporting Excellence Professional based on the occupational standard published by IFATE. This means they can perform consistently and effectively in training environments and competitions in a range of professional sports, including cricket, football, rugby league and union, and have demonstrated knowledge and skills related to health and wellbeing, performance optimisation, injury and risk management, anti-doping, safety and inclusion.

Earning Criteria

Successfully met the requirements of the Sporting Excellence Professional End-point Assessment delivered by Pearson as a registered EPAO. The End-Point Assessment consists of a Knowledge Test, Practical Observation and Professional Interview.

Completed a minimum of 18 months learning and development to meet the knowledge, skills and behaviours in the Sporting Excellence Professional occupational standard.

Achieved Level 2 English and Maths qualifications.
Standards
Sporting Excellence Professionals are competent to perform consistently and effectively in training environments and competitions in professional sport. They have high a level of autonomy in terms of responsibility for what happens on the field of play and need to cope with extreme pressure.
