Level 4 Mammography Associate
Earners of this badge have demonstrated competence as a Mammography Associate based on the occupational standard published by IFATE. This includes applied knowledge of normal anatomy and external abnormalities, how radiation is produced and its effects, and standards for assessing the technical quality of images. Skills and behaviours demonstrated include quality assurance, professional practice, engaging in effective health promotion and safely operating mammography equipment.

Earning Criteria

Successfully met the requirements of the Mammography Associate End-point Assessment delivered by Pearson as a registered EPAO. The End-point assessment consists of an Examination paper and Clinical practice observation and discussion.

Completed a minimum of 12 months learning and development to meet the knowledge, skills, and behaviours in the Mammography Associate occupational standard.

Achieved Level 2 English and Maths qualifications.
Standards
Mammography Associates work within the breast imaging workforce undertaking routine two-view mammography (x-ray images of breasts). They will work in a multi-disciplinary team within a hospital or in a community setting, undertaking mammography of individuals as part of a breast screening program and of those with symptoms of breast disease.
