The methods of assessment include quizzes, examinations, and written papers with a minimum passing score of 70 percent.

The methods of instruction include audio visual materials, practical exercises, and discussion. The general course topics include the language of art; two-dimensional art; three-dimensional art; Ancient Mediterranean cultures to the 18th century; arts of Africa, Asia, the Pacific and Americas; and Modernism, postmodernism, and world art.
