Earners of the Basic Machining Skills badge have developed the skills necessary to understand the properties, safe operation, and maintenance of industrial machines. They’ve studied shop math, including the application of SI, exponents, and ratios. They’ve learned about measuring instruments, print reading, classification of metals, metal cutting, machine tooling, and machine shop safety. They’ve explored the operations, advantages, and features of CNC machines over manually controlled machines.
