Instructors practiced various techniques, such as using headings and captions, applying appropriate color contrast, creating descriptive hyperlinks, and adding alternative text to images to create accessible spreadsheets and charts. Participants practiced evaluating the accessibility of spreadsheets by using the Microsoft accessibility checker. The course also covered applying Universal Design for Learning principles to make their spreadsheets more inclusive.

Instructors completed a self-paced course in Excel accessibility training, during which they learned and practiced creating accessible Excel spreadsheets.
