The Cultural Competency in Healthcare badge focuses on skills and knowledge that values diversity, cultural differences, increases awareness of providers’ and healthcare organizations’ cultural norms as well as implicit bias. The badge is issued to students who successfully demonstrate health equity to diverse populations, increased awareness of one’s implicit bias, demonstrate proficiency in cultural humility, national CLAS standards and create cultural appropriate content.
