Sidemount Diver (v.4)
The course objective is to train divers to plan and make no stop recreational dives using sidemount configuration for one or two cylinders. The course covers the basic equipment requirements, setup, dive planning and the skills needed to use sidemount for recreational diving. Student must successfully complete PADI-0034, PADI-0019, PADI-0006, PADI-0014, and PADI-0016 to be eligible for the recommended 4 semester hours at the lower division in diving lab.

Earning Criteria

The methods of assessment include quizzes, performance rubrics/checklists, completion of the sidemount diver knowledge review, evaluation of skills during one practical application session, one confined water training dive and three open water training dives and more with a minimum passing score of 75%.

Instructional strategies include: audio visual materials, laboratory, discussion, practical exercises, lectures, classroom exercise.
