Earners of the Online Course Design (Fundamentals) badge will have been an active participant in the two-week Online Teaching Boot Camp facilitated by Quinnipiac University’s Academic Technology Department and School of Education Instructional Design Faculty. Earners demonstrated a basic knowledge of the guiding principles of teaching in an online space. Earners will be able to apply the ideas, strategies and tools learned to create their own effective online courses.

Earners of the badge successfully completed the Quinnipiac University Online Teaching Boot Camp and were active participants within the course. Active participation included completing readings, viewing lectures, contributing to discussion boards and using key technological learning resources. The boot camp consisted of the following modules: Opening the Door | Structuring & Centering | Teaching Strategies | Building Community.

Earners of the badge completed the following activities: • Posted an initial response to the discussion prompt in each module • Replied to at least one of their peers in each discussion • Submitted the "Planning Your Course" learning activity at the end of Module 2 • Submitted the "Communications Plan Journal" at the end of Module 4.
