Earners of this designation have demonstrated a practical study of network communications from the TCP/IP five-layer protocol model. This course covers the operation of the lower four layers in detail by examining some of the foundation laws including Nyquist and Shannon as well as selected protocols specific to each layer. Additional topics include packet switching and routing, bandwidth efficiency, and infrastructures used to provide information delivery and various network capabilities.
