Manage staff performance using defined employment requirements, performance management practices and training programs. Identify work health and safety priorities and implement practices throughout the organisation. Understand personnel record management and maintenance requirements to meet legislative requirements.

Understand various types of financial reports and when they would be used relevant to the agriculture industry. Prepare and monitor budgets using financial management systems. Organisational accounting standards are applied for the enterprise, and reporting and audit processes in place.

Research and analyse soil characteristics and properties so to develop and implement soil amendment practices, establishing a soil management plan for the enterprise.

Confidently source information for weed, pest and disease control planning. Determine long-term control strategies and implemented them with staff, contractors and suppliers. Identify environmental implications and risk management strategies. Determine scheduling and key responsibilities, monitor, adjust and evaluate control strategies and record results.

Assess land resource capability and establish short and long term livestock production targets in line with business plans. Determine nutrition requirements for livestock and the most appropriate feeding plan for each category. Build a calendar of operations for each enterprise production cycle. Understand legislative and regulatory requirements that are relevant to the business. Identify and analyse an opportunity for innovation / improvement identified as a result of this analysis / plan.
