8-hour Hazardous Waste Training - 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(8)

The 8-hour course complies with 29CFR1910.120(e)(8), the Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response standard. A combination of lectures, group exercises, and a selected case study provides students with the 8 hours of refresher training annually required by OSHA for all employees involved in hazardous waste operations. Course participants will gain knowledge in: new regulations or incidents that have had an impact on the hazardous waste industry and current activities at an active Superfund site.

The program includes activity based and competency based assessments. Students must complete the course in its entirety. The components of the course are hazard identification and control; personal protective equipment, air monitoring, decontamination, emergency response, and medical surveillance.

Students must also successfully engage in the group discussions and complete the exercises. These include the topics of site assessment, site control, and personal protective equipment.
