Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU), a regional public university located in Saginaw, Michigan, was established in 1963. The mission of SVSU’s Center for Rural Behavioral Health and Addiction Studies is to unite practice experts and build vital community partnerships within an academic environment to drive evidence-based, solution-oriented responses to behavioral health and addiction needs in rural Michigan. The Center’s innovative collaborative initiatives have resulted in measurable improvements in knowledge, skill, and attitudes related to addictions care and rural health.
