Earners of the 3D Scanning Competency micro-credential have demonstrated the ability to properly operate Pop2 3Dscanner to generate accurate digital models from real-world objects through the completion of a workshop, hands-on assessment, and graded quiz. Earners can use the 3D scanner effectively, are familiar with Revo Studio and Revo Scan software, can refine their files by layering multiple scans, and know how to troubleshoot basic scanning errors.

Earning Criteria

Attend the 3D scanning workshop covering software, machine operation, maintenance, and safety.

Complete the hands-on laser scanning assessment, resulting in a successfully scanned object with minimal errors and an STL or OBJ file export from Revo Studio.

Implement the correct use of different scanning modes in the Revo Scan software and allow users to manually adjust settings as needed to scan different objects.

Demonstrate an understanding of which materials can be scanned and how to prepare complex materials for scanning.

Complete the 3D scanning quiz with a score of 80% or higher.
