Community Service Program Lead

The Community Service Program Lead micro-credential recognizes the successful coordination and implementation of ongoing community service opportunities for first-time and returning Saint Michael’s College student volunteers. Program Leads are experienced leadership team members (with at least two semesters of previous co-leading experience) who are the primary contact with agency partners, interview and hire applicants, and assist in training new program leaders.

Earning Criteria

Participate in informal leadership development with the department and/or program advisor 2-4 times throughout the academic year.

Engage as the Community Service Program Lead for two consecutive semesters.

Support new leaders’ transition into program leadership.

Participate in formal Core Team leadership and skills training for 3-5 days in August.

Regular implementation of programming over two consecutive semesters, typically 1-3 hours each scheduled service opportunity.

Presence at the majority (more than half) of the scheduled service opportunities.
